Great Britain international Ben Gordon has reportedly signed for NBA D-League side Texas Legends, bringing to an end three years without a professional contract.
For Gordon, who signs for the Legends off waivers, it provides an opportunity for some lucrative pay checks and even a chance to return to the NBA.

Gordon was last with the Orlando Magic in the 2014-15 NBA season, averaging 6.2 points in 56 league games. The 33-year-old had signed for the Golden State Warriors the following summer but was quickly waived.
The Brit’s best spell though came when he was with the Chicago Bulls where he averaged 18.5 points and hitting 41.5 percent of his 3-point attempts in five seasons there. Gordon also had spells with the Detroit Pistons and the Charlotte Bobcats [now Hornets].
In an attempt to revive his career, Gordon joined up with the Great Britain senior side for their Eurobasket 2017 qualifiers. A move that was met with some criticism by GB fans, who thought that he was using the national team to find a club and he had no loyalty, given that Gordon did not suit up for the Brits in any of the previous tournaments since he got his British passport in 2010.
Despite moments of rustiness on the court, Gordon helped guide GB to this summer’s Eurobasket tournament, averaging 9.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
Gordon was open to offers from EuroLeague clubs as well as NBA sides during that off-season that he spent with the Great Britain team but none came about.
In his eleven-year NBA career, Gordon averaged 14.9 points and 2.5 assists per game.
