Paul George debuts signature sneaker in London: It’s my second child

Perhaps the biggest name playing in Thursday’s NBA London game, Paul George of the Indiana Pacers will debut his first signature shoe against the Denver Nuggets.

George, a Nike athlete will sport the PG1 sneakers on Thursday at the O2 Arena.

“[London] will always touch home for me, it’s always going to be a special moment for me; I gave birth to my second child here and that’s my shoe,” George told the media in London today.

Indiana Pacers’ Paul George debuted his first signature shoe in London today during the Pacers media session.

Designed by Tony Hardman, the shoe features a forefoot strap, Flywire cable, and forefoot Zoom Air cushioning. The shoe also has fish scale paneling and a bobber-inspired lacelock referencing George’s love of fishing.

“I feel good in them,” George reveals. “I practiced in them yesterday and I feel comfortable in them.”

The design itself is almost a copy of the Kyrie 3 trainer only with higher ankle support and a forefoot strap, which is slowly becoming a Nike trademark for its range of basketball shoes.

Though early retail is reported to be $110 (€104) Nike have stated that a price could vary.
