Perhaps the biggest name playing in Thursday’s NBA London game, Paul George of the Indiana Pacers will debut his first signature shoe against the Denver Nuggets.
George, a Nike athlete will sport the PG1 sneakers on Thursday at the O2 Arena.
“[London] will always touch home for me, it’s always going to be a special moment for me; I gave birth to my second child here and that’s my shoe,” George told the media in London today.
Designed by Tony Hardman, the shoe features a forefoot strap, Flywire cable, and forefoot Zoom Air cushioning. The shoe also has fish scale paneling and a bobber-inspired lacelock referencing George’s love of fishing.
“I feel good in them,” George reveals. “I practiced in them yesterday and I feel comfortable in them.”
The design itself is almost a copy of the Kyrie 3 trainer only with higher ankle support and a forefoot strap, which is slowly becoming a Nike trademark for its range of basketball shoes.
Though early retail is reported to be $110 (€104) Nike have stated that a price could vary.
