Real Madrid were handed a surprise defeat by Real Betis as the post-christmas period was not jolly for the league champions.
Betis, currently sitting in 12th, improved to 5-8 with this win as Jose Triguero hit the game-winning free throws to drop Real to only their second loss of the season.
Trent Lockett led the winners with 16 points. Sergio Llull led all scorers with 20 points for Real but it wasn’t enough.
Barcelona posted an impressive 94-82 win over Valencia as the Catalan side solidified second spot.
Tyrese Rice went for 25 points, which was enough for player of the week.
