Galatasaray adds Fitipaldo to backcourt

Galatasaray Odebank Istanbul has added a fresh face to its backcourt by signing point guard Bruno Fitipaldo, the club announced on Tuesday.

Fitipaldo (1.84 meters, 25 years old) arrives from the Italian side Betaland Capo d’Orlando, and has agreed to a deal until the end of this season with an option to extend for another one. He is expected to be in Istanbul tomorrow for the medical tests.

A native of Uruguay, this is Fitipaldo’s first season in Europe, and in the Italian League action he has posted 15 points, 7.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

He previously played in Argentina with Obras Sanitarias Buenos Aires, and in Malvin Montevideo in Uruguay. If registered in time, Fitipaldo could make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut when Galatasaray hosts Brose Bamberg in Round 15 on Friday.
