Andrea Bargnani responds to criticism after EuroLeague debut

Despite leaving the NBA after ten years, big man Andrea Bargnani still can’t get away from his critics.

The first pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, who scored 26 points in his EuroLeague debut for Baskonia in their narrow 85-84 win over Anadolu Efes interrupted a local journalist who asked the 7-foot Italian about the people who might think that he is not the best defender or best rebounder

“People say a lot of things, these people, where did they play?,” answered a visibly irritated Bargnani: “I played in the NBA, I played as a pro for years. Who is saying that? You? Oh, okay you are saying somebody said it, so I can answer somebody said that.

“I know we are pro athletes, we are exposed to good and bad comments. When we play good, we are gods. When we play bad, we are very bad.”
