Luka Zoric has been named player of the week in Spain’s Liga Endesa thanks to an immense performance on Saturday night against Estudiantes.

The 31-yeard-old Croatian complied 22 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes of action as Real Betis Energia Plus beat the Madrid side by 13, 82-95.

The numbers are not a subject that concerns me, I just think about playing the best to help the team. If the team wins, I’m happy,” the humble center added.

His teammate Bostjan Nachbar landed 30 for Sevilla as the two spear-headed a potent attack that will be difficult for opposing teams to defend against in the league this year.

“We wanted to start well and we have achieved that against a direct rival in Movistar Estudiantes. This is how we intend to progress, especially for younger players. Endesa League is very tough and you can not stop and celebrate with what you have done in one game. We must continue working hard every day,” he added.
