Luka Doncic: I still haven’t done anything yet

So good is Luka Doncic that he made his debut for Real Madrid last season at just 16 years, two months and two days old.

The Slovenian-born point guard is set for a huge season with the Spanish side but he insists he has still not done anything in his career of note. It is a message that comes with intent as it is quite clear he is set for huge things and the point guard is obviously talking about winning trophies – both individual and team.

“I have not done anything yet,” he said as he was speaking to the press for the first time ahead of the league opener on Friday.

The youngster, who is aware of the buzz surrounding his game and the possibilities that lay before him is quick to temper expectations and talk of being the next best thing, but we are almost certain this will be the case given his athleticism and technical ability.

The 16-year-old committed his future to Slovenia recently when he announced he would represent Slovenia on the international stage instead of Spain. His father, Sasa Doncic, of Serbian descent also represented Slovenia on the international stage.

His Real Madrid side play Unicaja on Friday night in the opening game of the Liga Endesa’s 2016-17 campaign.
