Despite Great Britain falling to Hungary 88-80 in their last home game before two final games on the road, there was a positive in the form of Gabe Olaseni.
Olaseni, who is making his National Team debut (at any age group) this summer, led the Brits with 17 points and eight rebounds, without missing a shot as he went 8/8 from the field.
“Coach [Joe] Prunty told me at the beginning of the summer that this would be good for my career,” said Olaseni when asked about his progression with the national team.
“I’m playing against good guys, being involved with the GB family as I head into my second season as a pro. So I’m just learning from all the guys: Dan Clark, Kieron Achara, Eric Boateng, the has just helped me on the court.”
His hustle and aggressiveness were on full display and without question, he was a bright spark for GB as they bid to return to Eurobasket after missing out in 2015.
