Just three months after signing a senior contract for CSKA Moscow, 20-year-old Russian prospect Alexander Gavrilov will spend the season on loan to Estonian league and Cup champions BC Kalev/Cramo.
Gavrilov was part of the CSKA sports school and junior project. He has been part of the team for the past 12 years.

“We closely follow Sasha’s progress, he spent two pre-season camps with us,” CSKA coach Dimitris Itoudis said.
“He definitely improves as a point guard, in understanding the game, and now the time has come to make a step forward, to be among men and compete on higher level. It is his time to show up, and we want him to grow as a professional player.”
Gavrilov is a three-time youth championships’ winner and Russian JBL champion and he was named the VTB United Youth League Final 8 Best Point Guard this year.
The skilful guard averaged 10.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.7 steals for the CSKA Moscow second team in the 2015-16 season.
