It had been reported that the three new sides added to the FIBA Basketball Champions League will have to pay the governing body €2million in order to remove themselves from the competition.

Partizan Belgrade, AEK Athens, Stelmet Zielona Gora will therefore stay in the Champions League next season.

It’s a rule that comes with entry to FIBA’s flagship competition meaning that any kind of return back to the EuroCup will not happen.

The three aforementioned clubs will compete in Group E, alongside Besiktas, Dinamo Sassari, Ludwigsburg, Szolnoki Olaj and Spirou Charleroi.
