Denver Nuggets wing Julian Strawther is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Thursday after suffering a left leg injury during Wednesday’s preseason game.

The injury occurred midway through the third quarter when Strawther attempted to escape a double-team. His left leg twisted awkwardly, causing him to fall to the floor.

The 24-year-old was unable to put weight on his injured leg following the incident and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Nuggets head coach David Adelman expressed disappointment over the injury, particularly considering the work Strawther had put in during the offseason.

Adelman said the situation was frustrating because Strawther had been “working his ass off all summer”.

The Denver coach also acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the injury, adding that “all you can do is hope for the best” while awaiting further medical evaluation.

Strawther is entering his fourth NBA season with hopes of establishing himself as a consistent member of Denver’s rotation.

Although he has shown potential during his first three seasons, the wing has struggled to secure a permanent place in the team’s regular lineup.

However, Strawther reportedly impressed the coaching staff during training camp, receiving positive feedback for his development and performances.
