Real Madrid cruises past ASVEL as Andres Feliz hits eight threes

Real Madrid defeated LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 111-92 on Thursday, October 15, improving to 3-3 in the 2026-27 EuroLeague season behind a career-high 26 points from Andres Feliz. The Dominican guard made 8 of 11 three-point attempts, tying the club record for three-pointers in a EuroLeague game as Madrid overcame a third-quarter comeback to secure the victory.

Real made 19 of 45 attempts from beyond the arc, matching its club record for three-pointers made in a EuroLeague game. ASVEL, which played without Tremont Waters, Patty Mills and Jae Crowder, dropped to 2-4 despite remaining competitive for much of the contest.

Madrid established an early advantage, scoring 27 points in the first quarter before adding 34 in the second to take a 61-48 halftime lead. Feliz, Theo Maledon and Chuma Okeke helped drive the offense, while Madrid’s ball movement created open looks across the perimeter.

ASVEL responded with an efficient offensive performance of its own. Edwin Jackson scored 13 points, including four three-pointers, while TyTy Washington led the visitors with 17 points and six assists. Hugo Besson also contributed 16 points as ASVEL repeatedly found ways to stay within reach.

Madrid’s lead disappeared in the third quarter as ASVEL outscored the hosts 23-16 and fought back to tie the game at 71-71 late in the period. Joel Bolomboy added 12 points and seven rebounds, providing an interior presence during the visitors’ comeback.

Maledon helped Madrid regain its composure, finishing with 16 points and nine assists. Jaime Pradilla added 12 points and four rebounds, while Okeke contributed 10 points and five assists.

Madrid entered the final period with a narrow advantage before producing 34 points in the fourth quarter to settle the contest. Feliz continued to punish ASVEL’s defensive rotations, while Alberto Abalde and Maledon contributed important baskets as the hosts pulled away.

Feliz finished with 26 points, four rebounds and five assists, recording a performance that matched Mario Hezonja’s club record of eight three-pointers against Virtus Bologna in 2023. He made all eight of his successful shots from beyond the arc on 11 attempts.

Madrid’s 19 three-pointers came from 45 attempts, tying the second-highest number of three-point attempts in EuroLeague history according to the supplied game report. The hosts also shot 67.6% on two-point attempts, making 23 of 34.

ASVEL shot 44% from three-point range and 57.9% on two-pointers but could not match Madrid’s offensive output. The French team also committed 16 turnovers, three more than Madrid’s 13.

Madrid will host Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv next Thursday, October 22, while ASVEL visits Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday, October 23.
