New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown has urged young forward Pacome Dadiet to become more aggressive offensively, emphasizing that the Frenchman must be willing to take open three-point shots if he wants to earn a larger role during the 2026-27 NBA season.
Dadiet, selected with the 25th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, has struggled to establish himself in New York’s rotation since entering the league.
The 21-year-old has played just 247 total minutes across his first two NBA seasons, limiting his opportunities to demonstrate the shooting ability that made him an intriguing prospect before the draft.
According to Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News, Brown believes Dadiet needs to show greater confidence in his perimeter shooting rather than hesitate when opportunities become available.
“The first one is obviously he shoots it, and so he can’t be afraid to let it fly,” the Knicks’ coach said. “He’s got to get his body set, whatever, right away, and as soon as that thing hits his hands, if he has any space at all, at 6-foot-7 or 6-foot-8, whatever he is – boom, let it fly. Have confidence in that.”
Dadiet entered the NBA with a reputation as a capable outside shooter, but his shooting numbers have yet to reflect that potential.
Through his first two seasons with the Knicks, he has made only 13 of his 51 three-point attempts, converting 25.5% from beyond the arc.
