The Minnesota Timberwolves spent the past month making a strong push to bring Jonathan Kuminga to Minnesota, offering him their taxpayer mid-level exception along with a significant role on the court.
Anthony Edwards played an important part in recruiting Kuminga and personally helped convince the forward to join the Timberwolves.
Minnesota president Tim Connelly also traveled to Miami earlier this month for a four-hour face-to-face meeting with Kuminga.
The 23-year-old additionally held productive discussions with head coach Chris Finch about his potential role with the team.
The Timberwolves’ consistent recruitment ultimately helped them secure Kuminga despite interest from several other teams.
