Joey Dorsey remains at Barcelona but Samardo Samuels heads to Far East

Barcelona have extended the contract of fan favourite Joey Dorsey, as the forward inked a new two-year deal but for Samardo Samuels, he leaves the Catalan club for pastures new.

In a bid to increase his playing time, and build up his stats, Samuels will play in the lucrative, yet weak Chinese Basketball Association, as the 27-year-old Jamaican will suit up for the Jiangsu Dragons next season.

Samuels, who averaged six points in the EuroLeague, shooting 52 percent from the field, coming off the bench for Barcelona last season will look towards the CBA for a second chance, having never really took off with the Catalan side following a solid stint at EA7 Milano before his move to Spain.

But while Samuels prepares for an adventure in China; Dorsey will remain with Barcelona as his contract is guaranteed until 2018.

Dorsey, who, like Samuels formally starred in the NBA averaged 5.3 points in nine EuroLeague games for Barca, having joined the club in February from Galatasaray. He will play alongside new signings Tyrese Rice and Petteri Koponen this upcoming season.
