The New York Knicks secured the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs after defeating the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Still, the win may have come at a price, as OG Anunoby went down with a left ankle injury.
The injury happened early in the second quarter when Anunoby got tangled up with Scottie Barnes while challenging a shot.
He appeared to twist his left ankle on the play. Although he remained on the court briefly, he soon headed to the locker room and did not return, sitting out the entire second half.
Following the game, Knicks coach Mike Brown did not provide any new information regarding Anunoby’s condition.
The experienced forward has already missed 13 games this season due to a hamstring strain and later a lost toenail.
With nothing at stake in Sunday’s game, New York can afford to give Anunoby over a week of recovery time before the playoffs begin the next weekend.
