JB Bickerstaff: Everyone’s trying to be the best version of themselves

Here’s Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff on what the group has been able to do without Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Stewart (8-2 in last ten games/clinched Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed for the playoffs with a 116-93 Saturday night road win vs. the Philadelphia 76ers).

*first time being No. 1 seed since 2006-07*

(via Detroit Pistons):

“What I think it says is we’re the definition of team, right? We’re not just a bunch of individuals in a locker room. And when we play together, because of the way that we defend, we’ve got enough guys offensively who can generate for us, but we are a team. Obviously, we miss Cade. We miss Stew. We understand their impact. But what you’ve seen from this group of guys is no one’s trying to be someone they’re not. They’re just trying to be the best version of themselves, and when they do that, everybody collectively ticks up a little bit and the team is able to still win basketball games.”
