Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid has been hit with a $50K fine for “questioning the integrity of game officials,” the NBA announced Friday.
The situation took place with 4:13 left in overtime during Wednesday’s comeback victory against Houston, when Reid picked up a technical foul and was ultimately ejected.
Originally an undrafted free agent, Reid was named the league’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2024 and is once again considered a strong contender for the honor this season.
Across 70 games in 2025/26, averaging 26.1 minutes per night, the 6’9″ center/forward has posted 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 block per game while shooting .466 from the field, .372 from three, and .732 from the line.
Reid is currently making about $21.6MM in the first year of a five-year, $125MM deal, meaning the fine is unlikely to have any real effect on his overall financial situation.
