Victor Claver sides with Barcelona, signs a three-year deal with Catalan giants

FC Barcelona Lassa reached an agreement with both forward Victor Claver and Valencia Basket which allowed the club to sign him until the end of the 2018-19 season.

Barcelona had agreed with Claver, but also had to agree with Valencia, who owned the player’s rights in Spain. Claver (2.06 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, where he averaged 9.4 points on 40% three-point shooting and 5.9 rebounds in 31 Turkish Airlines Euroleague last season, in which he helped his team reach the Final Four for the first time ever.

Claver grew up and started his professional career with Valencia Basket and made his Spanish League debut back in October of 2006. He was the Eurocup Rising Star award winner in 2010, the same season he helped Valencia win the Eurocup. Between 2012 and 2015, Claver played three seasons for Portland in the NBA and Idaho in the NBDL before joining Khimki Mosow Region.

He has also won EuroBasket gold medals with Spain in 2009, 2011 and 2015, a bronze in 2013, and an Olympic silver medal in 2012.
