Kristaps Porzingis is likely to miss the Golden State Warriors’ upcoming road games in New Orleans and Memphis, according to a report from Anthony Slater on Monday, February 23.
Porzingis did not travel with the team, while Draymond Green made the trip, signaling that the center’s absence is illness-related.
The 30-year-old forward joined the Warriors at the trade deadline from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield. He has played just one game with Golden State this season, logging 17 minutes and scoring 12 points.
Golden State (29-27) heads into a back-to-back set with the Pelicans and Grizzlies, needing consistent contributions as the Western Conference playoff race tightens. The Warriors currently sit eighth in the West, with a 4-6 record in their last 10 games.
The team’s rotation will likely lean more heavily on Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, and Al Horford during Porzingis’ absence. Podziemski has been averaging 12.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in 27 minutes per game, while Moody adds 11.7 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Golden State’s next matchup at New Orleans is scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, followed by a Wednesday, February 25 game in Memphis. Both contests are key for maintaining positioning near the playoff cutoff in the competitive Western Conference.
