Ja Morant’s future linked to Bucks’ potential interest

Ja Morant remained with the Memphis Grizzlies through the trade deadline, as the organization ultimately chose not to move forward with any offers that mirrored the type of return the Atlanta Hawks received in their deal involving Trae Young.

Reports indicated that Memphis was unwilling to lower its asking price, leading to Morant staying put despite ongoing speculation.

League interest in the star point guard appeared limited leading up to the deadline, but that situation could change moving into the offseason.

According to Jake Fischer, several teams around the NBA believe the Milwaukee Bucks have a genuine interest in acquiring Morant under the right circumstances.

Fischer notes that Milwaukee’s potential pursuit could take different forms depending on the franchise’s long-term direction.

Morant could be viewed either as a centerpiece for the Bucks’ future roster construction, potentially stepping in as a successor to Giannis Antetokounmpo during a transition period, or as a dynamic backcourt addition who could play alongside him as part of a retooled contender.

While no deal materialized this time, the possibility of renewed discussions remains, especially if team strategies shift once the offseason begins and roster plans become clearer across the league.
