Bub Carrington: My best ability is availability

Washington Wizards sophomore point guard Bub Carrrington prides himself on availability, so getting to the 2026 Castrol Rising Stars on short notice would be no problem (replaced Alex Sarr for Team T-Mac).

“They woke me up out of my sleep,” Carrington said. “We just played in Cleveland, flew home, went to sleep, woken up out of my sleep by my GM (Will Dawkins). He said, ‘You’re a Rising Star. Go get on this plane in two hours.’ Had to pack my bags. Now, I’m in L.A. as a Rising Star.”

The former Pittsburgh Panther didn’t miss a college game and has yet to be inactive during his NBA career, starting 33 out of 33 possible games as a one-and-done and appearing in all 135 games so far at the pro-level.

“I think that’s a testament to my career as well,” Bub said of his availability. “I feel like my best ability, as they say, availability. And I feel like no better way to kinda… I feel like I sound kinda conceited saying this, but there’s no way to kinda give a person like me an All-Star shout other than him just being available, being there and can play at any time. So I feel like that’s me, that’s what I’ve shown the league. So, it’s fitting.”

The 20-year-old would finish with 2 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, and zero turnovers in a 41-36 semifinal loss vs. Team Vince.
