The Brooklyn Nets defeated the short-handed Washington Wizards 127-113 after using an 80-point first half on Saturday night.

Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 23 points, Day’Ron Sharpe added 19, Noah Clowney had 18, and rookie Danny Wolf had 16 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

On the other hand, Wiley Riley tallied a career-high 27 points, and Justin Champagnie added 21 and nine rebounds for Washington.

The Wizards have only eight players available, as the Nets took advantage to have a 34-point edge in the second quarter.

Both teams are tied for 13th in the Eastern Conference with a 14-37 win–loss record, playing many young players in pursuit of the lottery position, but Brooklyn had its full roster on the court Saturday.

Alex Sarr (right ankle soreness), Kyshawn George (right knee contusion) and Bilal Coulibaly (lower back soreness) were all ruled out Saturday, while the players acquired along with Anthony Davis from Dallas on Wednesday were not available yet.

Washington had won four of their previous six games, including a victory over East-leading Detroit on Thursday.

The Nets outscored the Wizards 23-3 over the final 41/2 minutes of the first quarter, pushing a six-point lead to 46-20.

80-47 at halftime, as the Nets’ most points in a half since scoring 91 in the first half against Golden State on Dec 21, 2022.

Washington will host the Heat on Sunday, while the Nets host the Bulls on Monday.
