Kawhi Leonard scores 33 as Clippers rout Kings by 41

Kawhi Leonard led the Los Angeles Clippers with 33 points as the team cruised to a 131-90 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night at the Intuit Dome.

James Harden added 21 points, while John Collins and rookie Yanic Konan Niederhauser contributed 16 each as the Clippers extended their season-best winning streak to five games.

Leonard has averaged 37.8 points over his last five contests, including a career-high 55-point performance against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.

Sacramento struggled from the outset, falling behind 34-20 after the first quarter and trailing 70-43 at halftime after shooting 57.1% in the second quarter.

Nique Clifford scored 18 points for the Kings, while Maxime Raynaud and Russell Westbrook added 12 apiece, but the team committed 19 turnovers, which Los Angeles converted into 28 points.

The Clippers dominated in the paint and on the boards, out-rebounding Sacramento 42-41 and limiting the Kings to 41% shooting overall.

Los Angeles led by 30 after three quarters, allowing the team to coast in the fourth while posting its largest margin of victory this season.

Despite missing center Ivica Zubac to a left ankle sprain, the Clippers’ ball movement and defensive execution overwhelmed the Kings, who have lost five consecutive road games.

Sacramento will host the Boston Celtics on Thursday, while Los Angeles remains at home to face the Utah Jazz the same day.
