Former NBA guard Sebastian Telfair has been released from federal custody and is now out of prison just ahead of the holidays. The 40-year-old had spent the past few months at Fort Dix FCI in New Jersey after violating the terms of his supervised release tied to a healthcare fraud case.
Telfair said he feels healthy and refocused, with his priority now being a return to family life and staying on the right path. During his time at Fort Dix, he also crossed paths with fellow New York native Sean Combs, with the two briefly reconnecting while incarcerated.
Although he is free, Telfair remains under supervision and must meet several conditions, including abstaining from drugs and alcohol and completing coursework related to financial responsibility. With his sentence behind him, he now looks to move forward with a cleaner slate.
