Former Italian national team coach Simone Pianigiani has been named the new head coach of Israeli league side Hapoel Jerusalem, as reported by local media in Israel.
Pianigiani has signed a two-year deal with the club who are expected to compete in the upcoming Eurocup season.

In five seasons at Montepaschi Siena, Pianigiani won the Italian league on all five occasions, making them a force in the Euroleague before financial difficulties got in the way. His last club coaching job was with Fenerbahce in 2012 but he left to concentrate on national team duties with Italy.
