The Philadelphia 76ers travel to face the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, December 14, at 6:00 PM ET at State Farm Arena, with both teams managing high-impact injuries ahead of an Eastern Conference matchup.
Atlanta enters at 14–12 and coming off a home loss, while Philadelphia sits at 14–10 and carries a one-game winning streak into the road contest.
The Hawks will be without Trae Young, who is ruled out with a right knee MCL sprain. Young has appeared in only five games this season but remains Atlanta’s primary offensive organizer when available, averaging 7.8 assists.
Kristaps Porzingis is also out due to illness, removing a frontcourt scorer who has averaged 19.2 points and 1.6 blocks. His absence places added pressure on Atlanta’s interior rotation.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker is listed as questionable with a right lateral ankle sprain after averaging 20.7 points in 24 games. His availability would be significant for perimeter scoring and secondary ball handling.
N’Faly Dante remains in concussion protocol, while Jacob Toppin is out following right shoulder surgery. Nikola Djurisic, Eli John Ndiaye, and Caleb Houstan are tied to G League status, with Houstan listed as questionable.
Jalen Johnson continues to anchor Atlanta’s production, averaging 23.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.0 assists. Onyeka Okongwu is expected to play a larger role inside, as he averages 16.0 points and 7.2 rebounds.
Philadelphia’s injury report is headlined by Joel Embiid, who is questionable due to left knee injury management. Embiid has played 10 games and is averaging 20.3 points and 1.2 blocks in limited minutes.
Tyrese Maxey is listed as doubtful with an illness after logging heavy usage this season. The All-Star guard leads Philadelphia with 31.5 points and 7.2 assists per game.
Kelly Oubre Jr. remains out with a left knee sprain, while Trendon Watford is sidelined with a left adductor strain. Both absences affect wing depth and defensive versatility.
Jared McCain is available while wearing a splint following right thumb surgery, which stabilizes the guard rotation. Johni Broome and Hunter Sallis are doubtful due to G League status.
The teams met once earlier this season, with Atlanta earning a 142–134 double-overtime win in Philadelphia on November 30.
