Dubai surges late to edge Paris in thriller

Dubai Basketball protected its perfect home record with a 90–89 comeback win over Paris Basketball on Tuesday night at Coca-Cola Arena, closing Round 13 with one of its most resilient performances of the season.

Paris controlled the opening 10 minutes with a 32–17 first-quarter lead, setting a season high for points in a frame and forcing Dubai into early adjustments.

Filip Petrusev steadied the hosts with 11 points in the second quarter, helping engineer a 29–13 response that pushed Dubai ahead 46–45 at the break.

The momentum shift created room for McKinley Wright, who transformed the game in the final period after entering the fourth quarter with eight points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Wright erupted for 16 fourth-quarter points, adding two rebounds and two assists, and finished with career highs in points (24), rebounds (5), and PIR (30).

His free throws in the final minute capped a decisive stretch in which Dubai overturned an 83–86 deficit into a 90–86 lead.

Justin Anderson added a crucial three-pointer during that sequence, while Klemen Prepelic provided steady playmaking in late-clock possessions.

Wright’s production was matched for stretches by Paris forward Derek Willis, who delivered a career-high 22 points and kept the visitors in contention with timely perimeter shooting.

Nadir Hifi trimmed the deficit to one with a buzzer-beating three, but Paris ran out of time as Dubai closed out its fifth straight home win of the season.

Petrusev finished with 19 points and five rebounds as another key contributor, while Anderson chipped in 12 points and six boards.

Paris countered with balanced scoring from Francesco Tabellini’s group, including 13 points apiece from Justin Robinson and Hifi, but the visitors struggled to sustain their early pace.

Dubai finished with 30 made free throws, using the stripe to stabilize its offense during stretches when Paris’ pace disrupted half-court sets.

The win moved Dubai to 6–7 on the season, its only “home” loss coming in Sarajevo against Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, while Paris dropped to 5–8 and fell to 2–4 on the road.

The FIBA break offers both teams time to reset before returning to EuroLeague play next week.

Paris visits AS Monaco on December 4, while Dubai travels to Italy to face Virtus Bologna on December 5.
