Brooks, Booker lead Suns past Spurs

Dillon Brooks scored 25 points and Devin Booker added 24 as the Phoenix Suns ended the San Antonio Spurs’ three-game winning streak with a 111-102 victory at Mortgage Matchup Center on Sunday.

Playing without Jalen Green, Grayson Allen, and Ryan Dunn, Phoenix received key contributions from Jordan Goodwin, who posted 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Collin Gillespie added 15 points off the bench.

De’Aaron Fox led San Antonio with 26 points, and Devin Vassell contributed 17, but the Spurs were without Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and rookie Dylan Harper, limiting their depth and defensive options.

The Suns overcame an 11-point second-quarter deficit by outscoring San Antonio 37-24 in the third, with Booker scoring 11 points to help take an 86-80 lead into the fourth.

Phoenix improved their three-point shooting after a slow start, finishing 14 of 38 (36.8%) from beyond the arc, including clutch baskets from Brooks and Booker to maintain separation in the fourth quarter.

Mark Williams helped control the paint, while Goodwin’s rebounding and floor presence supported the Suns’ balanced attack, keeping San Antonio from closing the gap despite Fox’s efforts.

The win gives Phoenix its third straight and boosts the team to 11-6, while the Spurs fall to 11-5 despite winning three consecutive games without Wembanyama earlier this week.

Phoenix will host Houston on Monday, missing former star Kevin Durant for personal reasons, while San Antonio heads to Portland on Wednesday.
