The Sacramento Kings have begun exploring the idea of moving some of their veteran players as they consider initiating a full rebuild.
Among all the names on their roster, the one drawing the most interest from other teams is Keon Ellis, with reports indicating that more than half the league has reached out about the wing.
Ellis, who stands 6-foot-4, is in the last year of his current deal worth $2.3 million. That modest contract number makes him a relatively easy acquisition for nearly any team.
He becomes eligible for an extension on February 9, and if he remains with the Kings, he could sign a four-year deal valued at up to $87 million.
Although Sacramento views the 25-year-old guard/forward as young enough to be part of a rebuilding plan, the franchise may be tempted by offers reportedly strong enough to include a first-round pick.
At this point, Ellis is believed to carry more trade value than any other player on the Kings roster.
