The Magic have managed to keep winning despite being without All-Star forward Paolo Banchero, who is sitting out his fifth consecutive game tonight because of a left groin strain, Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel notes.
Although head coach Jamahl Mosley said earlier in the week that Banchero is showing signs of improvement, the team still doesn’t have a specific timetable for when he might return to the lineup.
Asked how Orlando has continued its strong play without its top scorer, Franz Wagner explained that the group has responded collectively.
“We’ve just handled it as a team,” Wagner said. “Everybody’s stepping into their role, playing confidently out there and doing what’s asked of them at a high level.
“If we can continue to do that, we’re in a good spot right now and obviously playing some really good teams in the next couple games, so we’ve got to continue to get better and keep doing what we’re doing.”
