After earning their first win of the season on Monday, the Boston Celtics followed up with another strong performance on Wednesday, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers by 20 points.
A big part of that success has been offseason addition Josh Minott, who has quickly made his presence felt in Boston’s starting lineup.
Minott, who joined the Celtics as a free agent after three seasons with limited opportunities in Minnesota, has averaged a double-double across the two wins – 13.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game – while posting an incredible +44.4 net rating in 61 minutes of play.
His energy, defense, and hustle have earned praise from both teammates and coaches as he continues to carve out his role.
Speaking with Jay King of The Athletic, Minott described his new opportunity in Boston as a “blessing” and said he’s focused on doing the little things that help the team win.
“They’re not really asking for much,” Minott explained.
“Just do my best to defend the other team’s best player, rebound, defend and space the floor on offense. And truthfully, after that, they see everything as a plus. I’m just trying to hone in on what they expect out of me and just help my team to continue to look the best they can.”
