Nea Kifissia join Champions League

Nea Kifissia will be the latest Greek league side to participate in the FIBA Basketball Champions League next season.

They will join AEK Athens and Aris in next season’s inaugural competition.

“The Kifissia is pleased to announce that the open for the participation of our team in the Basketball Champions League is open,” a club statement said.

“FIBA accepted Kifissia as the third club from Greece in the competition.
After a highly successful season, where Kifissia finished sixth place of the standings in the Greek league, the hard work of our team is rewarded with the opportunity to compete in Europe for the first time in its history and claim more important distinctions.”

Despite Greece accepting FIBA’s offer to join the Basketball Champions League, the top two sides in the domestic league Panathinaikos and Olympiacos will continue playing in the Euroleague next season.
