Maciulis officially in Milano

ImageLithuanian international star Jonas Maciulis has officially transferred to Armani Jeans Olimpia Milano. TalkBasket.net had reported that the two sides were close to a deal almost two weeks ago.

Although no financial details were published, sources claim that Maciulis has signed a two years contract which will make him richer by 1.2 million euros. The small forward and undersized power forward had attracted some interest from many clubs but he chose Milano due to guranteed playing time.

This will allow him to improve his game further before taking the next step, joining a top Euroleague club such as Barcelona, Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow who all expressed interest in the player. Maciulis has a great deal of experience in Euroleague as he has been competing there almost non-stop since 2003. Last season he averaged 14 points and 5 rebounds for the Greens of Kaunas.

Maciulis is a regular member of the Lithuanian national team and has won a bronze medal at EuroBasket 2007 and reached the 2008 Olympic semifinals.
