Denver Nuggets and Italy forward Danilo Gallinari has said that the Azzuri must win their Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Turin plus he has also revealed that he was working out in preparation for July event.
In an interview on San Martino RTV Gallinari said said that Italy are desperate for a return to the Olympic Games for the first time since Athens 2004.
“We are the strongest team in our group,” Gallinari said. “We are the team to beat and we have to win it. We’ll have the chance to do that in front of our fans.”
He has also said that his ongoing ankle injury is practically healed and that he is already working out.
“I am well,” he said. “I recovered from the ankle injury and I am ready. I am already working out.”
Italy will play Croatia and Tunisia in Group B of the Olympic Qualifying rounds, which will be played from July 4-10.
