After securing a best ever finish in the Euroleague for Lokomotiv Kuban, coach Georgios Bartzokas  is rumoured to be in advanced talks with Darussafaka Dogus for next season.

The Greek coach is unlikely to remain in Krasnodar next season and with an apparent exodus of players to follow, Bartzokas is heading to Istanbul where Darussafaka Dogus are confirmed as a wildcard selection by Euroleague for next season, according to Greek website Eurohoops.

Bartzokas also has a clause in his current contract that allows him to leave Lokomotiv Kuban after one season. He currently has a one-year deal with the option for a second.

“We finished the season with a smile, which is very important for us,” Bartzokas said at the end of the third place game press conference in Berlin.

“Nobody knows what the future holds. I feel a lot of appreciation to Loko and the president for me to coach at this level. It’s important to me that they trusted me. They accepted all of my movements. I feel appreciated by the club.

“We wanted to finish this season with a title. We knew that it was difficult. You need a little more experience from the very beginning to play in the semifinals. All this experience is something that really counts.”
