Ivica Zubac says the Los Angeles Clippers roster is “much better than last year’s team,” highlighting improvements in defensive rebounding and positional defense.
The center also reported losing around eight pounds in the offseason, aiming to add muscle and feel lighter on the court.
The Clippers enter the 2025–26 season with a revamped roster, including veterans like Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and John Collins, alongside younger contributors such as Cam Christie and Kobe Brown. Zubac emphasized that addressing weaknesses from last year will be key for playoff success.
The Croatian center noted that improving team defense and rebounding will be “huge” for the Clippers’ competitiveness this season.
Zubac’s offseason work focused on losing fat and building strength, which he believes will help him perform more effectively in both the paint and pick-and-roll situations. The center feels in “pretty good shape” heading into training camp.
The Clippers’ roster now balances star power with depth, adding players like Brook Lopez, Chris Paul, and Bradley Beal. This mix is designed to reduce last season’s lapses and strengthen rotations across positions.
With lessons learned from the first-round exit last season against the Denver Nuggets, the Clippers are focused on addressing rebounding gaps and improving on-court communication.
