Adriatic League director Kresimir Novosel is unsure as to why FIBA have decided not to recognise them as an affiliate.
“You know, FIBA doesn’t even officially recognise Euroleague,” Novosel said. “All of our regulations are in accordance with those of FIBA, but our clubs decided to play in Euroleague and in Eurocup. We can’t prevent them to do it.
“Probably FIBA doesn’t like the fact that the league decided to offer its clubs the chance to play with the best in Europe. Last year FIBA demanded the transformation of ABA and we did it. Now I don’t know what the problem is for them.”
