Former NBA small forward Martell Webster thinks that San Antonio Spurs 2025 #2 pick Dylan Harper has to make an adjustment to his game alongside De’Aaron Fox (averaged 19.4 PPG/4.6 RPG/4.0 APG/0.6 BPG/1.4 SPG/48.4% FG/33.3% 3-PT/75.0% FT in 29 games played at Rutgers last season).

(via Saving the Association):

“With De’Aaron Fox and you got [Stephon] Castle, that’s gonna be interesting because you have somebody like De’Aaron that is the primary ball handler almost in the sense of a Chris Paul right? And then you got somebody like Dylan: he’s gonna have to learn how to play off the ball. And if he’s a ball handler like I’m seeing him in these highlights, he’s gonna have to have a motor like Stephen Curry because if you want the ball, you’re gonna have to be able to come off screens and especially with the head coach in Mitch Johnson, who is one of my best friends. He was in my wedding, groomsman in my wedding. I could tell you that this guy has one of the highest IQs I have ever, ever knew. This kid going back to high school: he was one of the first, if not only the person that had three TVs on the wall playing all different sports at one time.

“He could tell you all the general managers, all the head coaches, everybody in the front office. This kid and playing with him growing up, I probably only seen him lose the ball three times. So his IQ for the game is so high, and his dad was John Johnson that won a championship for the Seattle SuperSonics back in the ‘70s. But yeah, if they drafted this kid, I guarantee you Mitch Johnson had 95% of that choice because he understands how to play him in a system. But this kid Dylan’s gonna have to be able to play off the ball, and that’s the way he’s gonna get the ball in his hands to make plays because they’ve got two playmakers in De’Aaron and him. So it’ll be interesting, we’ll see.”
