Kyle Lowry is officially returning to the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2025–26 season. The six-time All-Star agreed to a one-year contract to stay in his hometown, as reported by Shams Charania on X.

Lowry, a six-time All-Star and 2019 NBA champion, enters his 20th NBA season and third consecutive year with his hometown team.

The Philadelphia native appeared in 35 games for the 76ers last season, starting 12 contests and averaging 3.9 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.9 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per game.

The 39-year-old joined the 76ers in February 2024 after starting the season with the Miami Heat. In his first partial year with Philadelphia, he averaged 8.0 points and shot over 40 percent from three-point range across 23 regular-season games, providing veteran leadership and steady playmaking.

Lowry’s postseason résumé includes 136 playoff games, where he has contributed 13.5 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per contest. He helped the Toronto Raptors capture their first NBA championship in 2019, delivering key performances throughout that playoff run.

With this signing, Philadelphia maintains backcourt depth and experience behind Tyrese Maxey. Lowry is expected to continue in a reserve role, offering stability off the bench and mentoring younger players as the 76ers aim to contend in the Eastern Conference.

The 2024–25 campaign will mark Lowry’s 20th season, making him one of only a handful of players in NBA history to reach that milestone. Over his career, he has played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Raptors, Heat, and 76ers, compiling averages of 13.9 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in 1,173 regular-season games.
