Carlos Cabezas – third Spaniard in Khimki

Carlos CabezasAs TalkBasket.net reported four days ago, Carlos Cabezas finally signed with Khimki. He arrives from Unicaja where he spent nine seasons. Cabezas became the third Spaniard at Khimki after Jorge Garbajosa and Raul Lopez. Although Garbajosa could be heading home this summer as is wanted by the top teams in Spain.

Carlos Cabezas played 12 Euroleague games last season with Unicaja 7.7 points and 1.5 assists per game.  He averaged 8,9 ppg, 2a pg and 1.9 rpg in last season's ACB. 28-year-old point guard will be sharing playing time with fellow Spanish national team member Raul Lopez who joined Khimki from Real Madrid recently.

Viktor Bychkov, GM of Khimki, couldn't believe that the club managed to sign two point guards who are members of such strong national team. This signing definately adds confidence to the team ahead of their Euroleague debut campaign.

Cabezas' and Raul Lopez' arrivals probably means that Palacio and Rannikko will be released soon.
