The NBA confirmed the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons will play a regular-season game in Mexico City on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The event will take place at Arena CDMX.

This matchup marks the league’s 34th game in Mexico since 1992, the most games played in any country outside the U.S. and Canada.

The game will coincide with the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations, featuring themed court designs and fan experiences reflecting the cultural event.

Dallas will play its eighth game in Mexico, led by Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson. The Mavericks also hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, despite trading Luka Doncic earlier this season. Kyrie Irving is expected to be sidelined as he continues recovery from ACL injury.

Detroit, making its third appearance in Mexico, is coming off a significant turnaround. The Pistons secured a playoff berth for the first time since 2019, led by 2025 NBA All-Star Cade Cunningham and a promising young core including Jalen Duren, Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson, and Isaiah Stewart.

The game will be broadcast live across Mexico, Latin America, and worldwide, reaching fans in more than 200 countries via television and digital platforms. The NBA will also host community outreach and youth basketball programs around the event.
