The Sacramento Kings could undergo major roster changes this summer, with the front office evaluating trade options involving DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, or Domantas Sabonis, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
League executives believe Sacramento will explore dealing at least one of its veteran stars either this offseason or ahead of the 2026 trade deadline.
The Kings finished 40-42 and missed the playoffs for a second straight year, prompting speculation about the direction of the franchise under new head coach Doug Christie.
Sabonis, a three-time All-Star, posted 19.1 points, 13.9 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game this season while shooting 59.0% from the field and 41.7% from three.
Despite his production, rival teams are monitoring whether Sabonis could eventually seek a trade if the Kings remain stuck in Play-In territory.
The 29-year-old signed a four-year, $186 million extension in 2023 and is under contract through 2028, making him one of Sacramento’s most valuable assets.
DeRozan led the team in scoring at 22.2 points per game while playing 77 games, but his age and contract—two years and roughly $50 million remaining—could influence trade discussions.
LaVine appeared in 32 games, averaging 22.4 points on 51.1% shooting and connected on 44.6% of his three-point attempts.
The 30-year-old guard is owed $45.9 million next season and has a player option for 2026-27 worth $48.9 million.
The Kings are also expected to explore the point guard market in both trades and free agency, HoopsHype reported, following the departure of De’Aaron Fox last season.
