The Brooklyn Nets hold the most 2025 draft picks, owning five first-round selections: 8th, 19th, 26th, 27th, and 36th overall.
With GM Sean Marks’ history of draft trades, there’s buzz that they may try to move up, possibly targeting the No. 2 pick held by the Spurs.
Brooklyn has scouted local favorite Dylan Harper, and his father even hinted at a trade possibility on social media.
But sources tell The New York Post those rumors are unfounded, and it’s unlikely Harper ends up with the Nets.
If the Nets pursue a higher pick, teams like the 76ers (No. 3), Jazz (No. 5), and Wizards (No. 6) are more realistic trade partners.
The 76ers, in particular, want to keep a top-tier pick but might consider moving back a few spots, making a deal with Brooklyn possible.
However, moving up just a couple of spots from No. 8 might not be worth it in a draft without a clear-cut top group.
Instead, Brooklyn may try to acquire a second lottery pick later in the first round by packaging their other picks, future assets, or veteran Cameron Johnson.
Their ample cap space could also help make a trade more attractive.
