The Los Angeles Lakers may be without a first-round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, but they could still land a high-impact college star late in the second round.

Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman projected the Lakers to select Villanova forward Eric Dixon with the No. 55 overall pick in his latest 2025 NBA mock draft.

Dixon led the nation in scoring during the 2024-25 college season, averaging 23.3 points per game while hitting 94 three-pointers.

He shot 40.7 percent from deep and made 2.9 threes per game, showing a consistent ability to stretch the floor.

At 6-foot-8 and 265 pounds, Dixon’s frame raises concerns about his defensive versatility at the next level, but his offensive skill set could fill a need for Los Angeles.

“There are a lot of questions about Eric Dixon’s fit at the next level,” Wasserman wrote. “But late in the second round, teams will at least talk about the nation’s leading scorer who just hit 94 threes.”

A stretch big like Dixon could give Los Angeles a more consistent catch-and-shoot option from the frontcourt.
