Here’s Mitch Johnson reacting to a question about his promotion as official head coach of the San Antonio Spurs (was the interim head coach for Gregg Popovich since November 2, 2024).

(via San Antonio Spurs):

Reporter: “Obviously been a little bit of news the last few days, how have you made heads or tails about this is your thing now?”

Johnson: “As cliché as it sounds, continue to rely on the support system that I’ve relied on last year in the position I was in — in the decade that I’ve been here. I’m very fortunate that the alignment, the continuity, the base and foundation is not changing. And so, I think from some of the best advice Pop’s given me in terms of trying to making my own and being myself and continue with the values and principles that had been here for a long time is gonna be my goal and it’s gonna be a challenge, but I look forward to it.”
