The Houston Rockets are gearing up for significant changes to their roster this offseason, with a clear focus on bolstering their offense. The team recognizes that they need additional firepower if they are to make a deeper playoff push next season.

However, that offensive boost may not come from one of their previously rumored targets. The Rockets have decided to move away from the idea of trading for Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker. This marks a shift in Houston’s plans, as they no longer view Booker as a key piece to their future.

Instead, the Rockets continue to have confidence in their current shooting guard, Jalen Green. At just 21 years old, Green is five years younger than Booker and has more long-term potential.

Furthermore, the financial aspect plays a role in Houston’s decision – Green is signed to a much more favorable contract, with $66 million less in salary obligations over the next three seasons compared to Booker.

In addition to these factors, the Rockets also harbor concerns about Booker’s performance last season, where he had some struggles at various points during the campaign.
