The Detroit Pistons are expressing interest in re-signing both Dennis Schroder and Malik Beasley heading into the offseason, according to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Detroit’s front office and locker room reportedly valued Schroder’s presence after acquiring him midseason in a five-team trade that also brought in Lindy Waters III.

Schroder played 28 games for the Pistons after arriving from Golden State, averaging 10.8 points and 5.3 assists in 25.2 minutes per contest.

Known for his leadership and defensive tenacity, the 31-year-old veteran point guard is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

According to HoopsHype, multiple members of the Pistons organization credited Schroder’s positive impact on the team during its first-round playoff series against the Knicks.

The Pistons are coming off their first postseason appearance since 2019 and their best regular season since 2016, finishing 44–38 under first-year head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

Beasley, who signed a one-year deal with Detroit last summer, also drew praise internally after a career-resurgent campaign.

The 28-year-old guard finished second in Sixth Man of the Year voting and ranked second leaguewide in total three-pointers made with 319.

He appeared in all 82 regular season games, averaging 16.3 points while shooting 41.6 percent from beyond the arc.

HoopsHype reported there is mutual interest between Beasley and the Pistons in a new contract, as Detroit aims to retain its core following a breakthrough season.

However, Beasley’s market is heating up, with teams eyeing his shooting. “Beasley is expected to be coveted by teams with the non-taxpayer mid-level exception,” Scotto added.

Beasley also emerged as a locker room presence, helping stabilize a Pistons roster that saw major changes after a 14-win campaign in 2023–24.

With Schroder and Beasley both entering free agency, Detroit has the option to preserve backcourt continuity around rising talents like Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey.
