Sam Presti has been honored as the 2024-25 NBA Basketball Executive of the Year, marking his first time receiving the prestigious award during his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Under Presti’s leadership, the Thunder posted an incredible 68-14 record, which is tied for the sixth-best in NBA history, reflecting the success of his roster-building strategy.

Presti secured the award by earning 10 First Place votes, six Second Place votes, and six Third Place votes, outpacing Cleveland Cavaliers’ Koby Altman and Detroit Pistons’ Trajan Langdon.

Rounding out the top five were Rafael Stone of the Houston Rockets and Lawrence Frank of the LA Clippers.

Presti’s vision for the Thunder began to take shape in the summer of 2019, when he orchestrated the trades of both Paul George and Russell Westbrook, pivotal moves that reshaped the franchise.

These trades set the stage for the acquisition of emerging stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, laying the groundwork for the Thunder’s successful and promising future.
