FC Barcelona kept its EuroLeague season alive with a 100–89 win over AS Monaco in Game 3 of their best-of-five playoff series on Wednesday at Palau Blaugrana.
The victory cut Monaco’s series lead to 2–1 and ensured another home game for the Catalan side on Friday.
Willy Hernangomez posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring Barcelona’s efficient offensive performance.
Jabari Parker added 16 points, while Dario Brizuela and Kevin Punter chipped in 14 each as the hosts shot 61.9% on two-pointers and 46.2% from deep.
Justin Anderson also scored in double figures with 10 points, giving Barcelona five players in double digits.
Mike James led Monaco with 20 points and 12 assists but couldn’t prevent the French side from surrendering 100 points for the first time in the series.
Elie Okobo had 19 points and Alpha Diallo followed with 16, while Jaron Blossomgame and Daniel Theis combined for 22.
Barcelona dominated the second quarter 27–12, using a 17–0 run to seize control of the game after trailing at the end of the first.
Hernangomez, Brizuela, and Alex Abrines sparked the rally, while Monaco went over five minutes without a point during the decisive stretch.
The visitors briefly threatened in the third behind a surge from Okobo and back-to-back threes from James, trimming the deficit to five.
But Parker’s buzzer-beating triple to end the third extended the margin to eight, and Barcelona never looked back in the final quarter.
Punter scored seven points in the last five minutes, including three free throws that put the hosts up nine with under three to play.
Barcelona outrebounded Monaco 32–27 and recorded 21 assists on 34 made field goals, showing better ball movement throughout the night.
Despite Monaco’s 48.1% three-point shooting, their 10 turnovers and lapses on defense allowed the home team to dictate the pace.
Game 4 will be played Friday in Barcelona, where the hosts will again try to avoid elimination.
